EU: Photographers use basic composition guidelines when taking an image in order to shoot a strong photograph
EQ: How can I take a strong photograph?
The first thing that I would like you to do today if figure out how to make a blog post, how to add an image to that blog post, and how to critique a photograph in an artistic way. Also, I want you to be familiar with some composition guidelines before we take some images!
Start by clicking on the two articles below and read through them both....
Rule of Thirds
18 Composition Rules for Photos that Shine
Assignment Steps:
- Read through both articles linked above
- Start a new post in Blogger entitled "Composition"
- Choose 3 Rules of composition that speak to you as a photographer.
- List each rule and find a picture that you think fits that rule from the internet to accompany your top picks. Write a very brief summary explaining the image and why you think that it fits the rule.
- In a final paragraph tell me why you took photography and what type of images/projects you may be interested in shooting this year. Do you prefer to work hands on and build (collage, photo books) or do you prefer to work digitally and manipulate photographs (Photoshop)? This will help me as I develop projects throughout the year. Add in what your interests are specifically (music, sports, etc.).
